Klisidi, Siteia

Klisidi is a settlement in the former community of Zakros, in the Sitia province of Lasithi, Crete. It is located at an altitude of 220 meters.

History

Klisidi is not mentioned in the Venetian censuses, nor in the Turkish census of 1671. However, it is mentioned in an undated document, probably from the early years of the Ottoman rule, as one of the villages of Sitia. In the Egyptian census of 1834, Klisidi is mentioned with 5 Christian families. In 1881, it is mentioned in the municipality of Karydi with 37 Christians. In 1900, it is mentioned with 44 inhabitants.
