Successful Extraction

On the night of May 14, 1944, between approximately 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM, the final phase of Operation Landmark concluded successfully. The abduction party, including General Kreipe, reached the designated rendezvous point on the southern coast, identified as Peristeres beach near Rodakino. A Royal Navy Motor Launch (ML 842) arrived offshore, and although a Special Boat Service (SBS) unit was landed for cover, the team boarded the launch undetected and departed Crete.
