Extraction Attempt Foiled

During the evasion period, an initial attempt was made to extract the party by sea from a beach on the southern coast of Crete. However, as the group neared the rendezvous point, a messenger from the resistance intercepted them with urgent news: German troops, coincidentally searching for the escapees, had occupied the designated beach. This forced the team to abort the attempt and retreat back into the relative safety of the mountains to await new instructions.
