The Abduction

On the night of April 26, 1944, at approximately 9:30 PM, the abduction took place near a T-junction (Point A) on the road between Archanes and Knossos, close to General Kreipe’s residence, the Villa Ariadne. Leigh Fermor and Moss, disguised as German military police, stopped Kreipe’s unescorted car. Kreipe was quickly overpowered and bundled into the back seat by the Cretan team members, while Moss neutralized the driver.
