29th Annual Potato Festival in Tzermiado, 2025

The Cultural Association of Tzermiado, “I Anagennisi” (The Renaissance), presents the 29th annual Potato Festival, a three-day celebration dedicated to the region’s most famous agricultural product. Held in the welcoming village of Tzermiado on the Lasithi Plateau, the event honors the local culture, traditions, and the renowned Lasithi potato, which is a cornerstone of the area’s agricultural heritage. The festival unfolds in the courtyard of the former Tzermiado Primary School, offering a vibrant atmosphere filled with music, dance, and authentic local flavours.
This yearly event has become a significant tradition, drawing visitors to the heart of Crete to experience the unique hospitality and cultural richness of the Lasithi Plateau. The festival’s program is designed to cater to a wide range of tastes, featuring traditional Cretan music, popular Greek artists, and local dance troupes. It serves as a tribute to the farmers and the land, celebrating the potato not just as a product, but as a symbol of the local identity and economy. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of potato-based dishes, prepared in traditional ways, throughout the festivities.
