The Local Community of Vryses, in collaboration with the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos, the Region of Crete, and the Cultural and Naturalist Association of Vryses, presents the “1st Festival of the Fountains.” This cultural event features a musical performance by the Cretan Winds project, celebrating the rich tapestry of Greek traditional music in the heart of rural Crete.

The Cretan Winds Project offers a captivating journey through the diverse musical heritage of Greece, with a special focus on the unique sounds and idioms of Crete. The ensemble, consisting of musicians Giorgos Zacharioudakis, Maria Louka, and Stelios Syngakis, interprets traditional compositions with a fresh perspective. Their approach aims to renew and enrich these timeless melodies, creatively integrating them into a contemporary context. The evening will be further enhanced by a dance performance from Eva Sokouti and Aris Makrypodis, who will showcase traditional dances from regions such as Thrace, Macedonia, and Crete, highlighting the authenticity and vibrant traditions of the area.
